A More Perfect
Union

Themed for the United States of America's 250th anniversary.

The 2026 Theme

Two hundred and fifty years

250

On July 4th, 2026, the United States turned 250.

This year's conference asks delegates to debate three of the questions that have followed America from its founding to the present: how power should be checked, how rights should be expanded, and how a republic should conduct itself among other nations. Each of our three committees places these questions in a different historical and contemporary frame.

SecCon on State of Affairs Background Guide ↗
The Secret Conference on the Current State of Affairs, held in Washington, D.C., in 1928, takes place at a time when the US appears prosperous and modern but is increasingly divided beneath the surface. The social transformations of the Roaring Twenties and organized crime and corruption require the action of all of you, and you must decide whether America can balance order and morality with individual freedom, reform, and justice.
